About this course
This 6-module course from our American Agile Academy partner "K2-Leadership Development" walks you through the four stages humans must take to move from inclusion to innovation.
This workshop jumps out of the theory and into actionable and tangible steps you can take as a leader to successfully incorporate psychological safety into your own leadership and work environment.
Dig into your personal leadership values, assumptions, norms, and biases. When this course has been completed, you will be able to see the current state clearly and know the steps you need to take to transform your own leadership and incorporate psychological safety into your team(s).
Which module takes place when?
The 6-module course is held online in 90-minute sessions starting at 8:00 am - 9:30 am MST (4:00 pm - 5:30 pm CET) for a total of 9 hours.

- Oct 12, 2022: Stage 2 - Learner Safety
- Oct 19, 2022: Stage 3 - Contributor Safety

- Nov 2, 2022: Summary & Leader Next Steps
The last session (summary) is only 60 minutes.
What are the topics of the Psychological Safety course?
Each participant will gain detailed, hands-on knowledge of psychological safety, including:
- Understanding psychological safety as a concept
- Learning how to use the 4 stages of psychological safety framework
- Aligning their team with common language, understanding, and conceptual framework
- Developing an action plan and next steps for each stage
By attending, you will earn 8 continuing education credits (8 CEUs).
Who is the "Psychological Safety" course for?
The training is primarily aimed at leaders (team leaders, C-level, management), but is also interesting for Scrum Masters or Agile Coaches who assume leadership responsibility in their role in the team.
Do I receive a certificate?
You will receive a certificate of completion after participating in all modules of the training.
How do I prepare for the training?
Separate preparation is not necessary, as all concepts are explained in the course. However, if you would like to study the topic in advance, the books by world renowned researchers and authors Timothy Clark, Brené Brown, Amy Edmonson, Adam Grant and David Rock can be consulted.
Karen Kemerling (Ph.D.) is a Psychological Safety Certified Trainer and Coach, and aNeuroscience Certified Brain Based Coach. She is also an energetic and inspirational Agile leader and coach passionately applying Agile principles to build confidence in individuals, empower teams, and generate a competitive advantage.
