He draws on experience with companies like TiVo, Cisco, and Wells Fargo, where he helped teams scale products and services beyond $100 million. Bernie’s work is driven by one belief: that every person, team, and organization has untapped genius waiting to be activated.
Experience
Bernie is a business agility trainer, transformation coach, and Level 2 Ambassador of Agile Academy. His mission is to accelerate performance by helping individuals and organizations rediscover and harness their innate capabilities. With a background in mechanical engineering and over 25 years of cross-functional leadership experience, Bernie’s approach is deeply rooted in both technical rigor and human-centered coaching.
He began his career designing systems that protect networks from lightning strikes but soon pivoted toward leadership roles in product development and organizational growth. Bernie’s coaching has helped product and engineering teams at major firms such as Cisco, TiVo, and Wells Fargo drive results through strategic agility, adaptive leadership, and empowered team dynamics. His focus lies in supporting teams to deliver sustainable business outcomes through mindset shifts, systems coaching, and practical tools.
As an educator, Bernie teaches Agile Product Development and Agile Leadership at Stanford Continuing Studies and leads immersive training programs for teams across sectors. He is a Certified Scrum Trainer®, Professional Engineer (California, Mechanical, CA M29407), and a Master Practitioner and Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). He is also a seasoned speaker and a passionate student of neuroscience, flow, and personal mastery.
Bernie lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and pets. Beyond his coaching and training, he brings curiosity, humor, and a deep belief in human potential to every conversation.
