Frequently Asked Questions

Product Ownership or Product Management is anything but trivial. A great Product Owner has the skills and capabilities to systematically address the uncertainties in building products that customers love and that work for the business.

This self-paced online course (SPOC) is designed to help you embark on your Product Owner journey. We want to provide you with all the tools and techniques needed to help you and your team build better products i.e. products that serve your customers well and also work for the business.

It all starts out with understanding what problem needs to be solved or which customer desire needs to be addressed. We will deep dive into Design Thinking and learn a bunch of tools including the Empathy Map, the Value Proposition Canvas and Personas to better understand customers and capture the insights about them.

Then, we will use these insights to craft a compelling Product Vision/Goal and design a business model around it. We will demonstrate that the Business Model Canvas is great in making assumptions transparent and how these assumptions can be systematically tested.

Next, we will dive into the day-to-day work of any Product Owner i.e. creating, refining, and prioritizing a Product Backlog. You will learn how to support your Developers’ effort estimation and how the same technique can be applied for value estimation and ultimately prioritization.

Finally, we will share with you how great Product Owners create Product Roadmaps in an agile setting and how they track progress against that roadmap.

This online course is primarily for product owners and product managers who are on their way towards becoming great product owners. The course shows you a variety of tools and methods to enable your team to build valuable products.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as for product owners who have already gained active professional experience in this role. Our online course for product owners is so full of content and exercises that even experienced product owners are sure to gain new insights from it!

In addition to the approximately 20 hours of video material in the course, take advantage of our 200+ page workbook designed specifically for this course to make your learning journey sustainable.

We recommend that you always plan enough time for the various assignments and exercises in the course so that you can work through everything and try out the tools yourself.

Included in the course package is access to our Agile Academy Slack Community. Use the community to share and discuss your questions with other product people around the world. Here you will also find our Agile Academy team, who will be happy to assist you as a contact person.

If live interaction while learning is especially important to you, you can also optionally add 9 hours of live sessions with your trainer Sohrab Salimi when you purchase the Product Owner Online Course. These sessions take place on a weekly basis and offer not only the opportunity to ask questions directly live, but also to work together on content and exercises!

After successful completion of the online course, you will receive a Business Agility Academy Award.

In addition, our Product Owner Online Course is an excellent preparation for the Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO 1) assessment by Scrum.org. The fee for the assessment is not included in the prices listed here and must be paid directly to Scrum.org.

If you go through this course as part of an Agile Academy Plus Membership, you will also have the opportunity to receive the Certified Scrum Product Owner® Certification by Scrum Alliance.

If you have questions about the certification of the Agile Academy online courses, just contact us. We will be happy to advise you on whether and which certification is most relevant for you.
