Joshua Tasker
Joshua Tasker
Joshua Tasker is a dynamic force in agile transformation with a passion for igniting teams to achieve what was thought impossible.
Primarily a hands-on practitioner with deep technical roots, Joshua graduated with a BSc in Computer Games Development from Southampton Solent University before discovering his calling in agile coaching and transformation. For over 7 years, he has supported teams and leaders across startups and large international organizations, helping them build sustainable delivery practices and navigate complex organizational change. His mission is to create environments where teams are trusted, empowered, and equipped to make decisions that deliver real value to customers.
As an Agile Coach at Lithe Transformation, a leading agile and digital transformation consultancy based in London, Joshua works with clients across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. He specializes in facilitating agile adoption that drives long-term culture change, developing agile strategies and roadmaps, and establishing metrics that build trust from the boardroom to delivery teams. His approach combines OKRs and lean/agile methods to maximize clarity, delivery, and joy within organizations.
Joshua's career spans diverse sectors and contexts. He has worked extensively in both private and public sectors, including significant transformations at the UK Ministry of Justice, Virgin Media, and a large military transformation as part of the Agile Center of Excellence. His work at the Ministry of Justice involved managing five core technical products during a major AWS migration, acting as both Product Manager and Delivery Manager for systems responsible for £1.1 billion in annual payments. His experience
includes delivery, product, and operations roles, giving him a comprehensive understanding of how agile practices impact every level of an organization.
In addition to his transformation work, Joshua is an active contributor to the agile community through his platform Viking Agility. His writings cover practical topics like battle-mapping for stakeholder management, understanding Scrum events, and building high-performing teams. His article "Prepare for Battle: Using Battle-Mapping to Visualise Your Next Move" introduces innovative techniques for navigating organizational politics during transformation. These resources reflect his accessible, hands-on approach to agile coaching—grounded in real-world experience rather than theory.
Joshua is committed to continuous professional development, using the Agile Coaching Growth Wheel to guide his career progression and mentoring approach with other Scrum Masters. He mentors and coaches Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Agile Coaches, and executive leadership, and regularly co-facilitates workshops and experiments around Scrum and Kanban practices. His core skills span Agile, Scrum, Kanban, XP, Lean, Software Development Lifecycle, Systems Thinking, and leadership, with technical proficiency in tools like JIRA and Confluence.
Joshua lives in the United Kingdom, where he balances his passion for agile transformation with his foundational belief that success comes from giving teams space to be trusted, self-organizing, and empowered. His philosophy is simple but powerful: agile is not just a framework—it's using change in a positive way to inspect what you've learned and adapt to an ever-changing world.
