Lothar Fischmann

Lothar Fischmann is a strategic organizational architect and systems thinker driving agile transformations across Automotive, MedTech, and Automation industries since 2015. As Value Stream Lead for "Strategic Tools" at agile42 in Vienna, Lothar is passionate about new product development and the organizational journeys required to bring ideas to life. He supports change agents and leaders toward greater agility through context-specific behavior, decision-making, and suitable frameworks for product and organizational development.

Lothar's work spans multiple dimensions: training and coaching teams, senior management, and stakeholders in national and international implementation projects; implementing sustainable internal structures for agile working at corporate level; and applying agile frameworks across single-team and scaled environments in software, hardware, and organizational development. His expertise includes leadership development, scaling agility, and helping organizations align strategy with structures and practices. He frequently engages as organizational architect, executive sparring partner, or institution builder depending on context and need, including interim management roles. Currently, he's completing a PhD on organizational development in agile transformations, specifically researching "The importance of continuous sensemaking as a part of agile transitions – a mixed methods research on development of corporate culture."

Lothar actively contributes to the agile community through publications, case studies, and webinars. His co-authored work includes case studies on approaching innovative culture at Siemens Factory Automation, increasing self-organization in complex environments, and comprehensive blog series like "The Agile Coaching Chronicles." His webinar series with Giuseppe De Simone on scaling agility explores pattern-led, principles-led, and practice-led approaches to organizational growth. With a background in marketing and corporate communications, Lothar excels at turning agility into something concrete and tangible, creating environments that support learning, creativity, and sustainable collaboration. His comprehensive training credentials span enterprise coaching, team coaching, Scrum, Kanban, LeSS, Scrum@Scale, professional Scrum, and agile leadership education across multiple certification bodies.
