John McFadyen is a Level 3 Ambassador of Agile Academy and founding partner of Agile Centre, bringing over 15 years of agile and lean coaching experience to global executive audiences. A former advisor at McKinsey & Company, John has guided senior leadership teams through some of the UK and Europe’s most complex agile transformations, emphasizing practical, outcome-focused change. He is known for delivering immersive learning grounded in real-world insights, equipping learners with the tools to lead high-performing, agile organizations.
John is also the creator of the Agile Coach Academy, a mentor-driven apprenticeship that cultivates the next generation of agile coaches through hands-on practice and guided learning. His foray into personal AI to scale agile education demonstrates his innovative approach to spreading agile thinking globally.
Experience
John McFadyen is a seasoned executive and enterprise Agile coach with a background in software development. With over 20 years in technology and agile coaching, he co-founded Agile Centre and previously served as an Agile Advisor at McKinsey & Company. Since 2018, he has served as a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST), Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC), and Certified Team Coach (CTC) through Scrum Alliance.
John has led large-scale Agile transformations in UK and European markets, collaborating with C‑Suite leaders to embed Business Agility in company DNA. He brings his audience engaging, story-driven, and highly practical training sessions informed by “war stories” and real organizational dynamics.
He created the Agile Coach Academy, an 18-month apprenticeship program blending teaching, mentoring, and practical coaching, aimed at developing Scrum Masters into professional Agile Coaches.
John also experiments with personal AI, training intelligent systems on his own content to improve accessibility of agile education worldwide.
His public thought leadership appears through blogs and a YouTube series such as Growing Scrum Masters, focusing on team scaling, dependency management, and effective product vision.
