Agenda: Leading Change the Agile Way
Prerequisites
- Mandatory: Understanding of Agility (e.g., via Agile Basics or Scrum Master Level 1)
- Recommended: Agile Leadership Level 1
In this training, we combine proven change principles with Agile methods. Through workshops, real-world case studies, and hands-on exercises, you’ll learn to plan, execute, and continuously improve change initiatives in short cycles.
1. Understanding Agility - Especially in Change Management
You will learn the core values of agile working in a playful way and, based on this, rethink Change Management from a new perspective.

2. From Classic to Agile
You will learn what changes when you implement Change Management in agile projects and the implications this has for your approach. Through a hands-on simulation, you will work through an exemplary change initiative to internalize the agile process steps.

3. Focus on Culture and Mindset
Transitioning to an agile way of working already brings significant changes. To master these effectively, it is essential to deeply internalize the agile mindset. We will therefore dive deep into the topic of attitude—within the change team as well as with clients and key stakeholders—and you will receive practical tips on how to best support the affected individuals on their journey.

4. Iterative Cycles & Data-Based Hypothesis Testing
What exactly does the agile Change Management process look like? What phases, events, roles, and artifacts are needed? How can change initiatives be broken down to create value iteratively? How can the impact of change initiatives be measured? Based on Jason Little's Lean Change approach, supplemented with elements from various other agile frameworks, you will receive a practical toolbox to successfully implement your change initiatives.

5. Transparency & Communication
Learn how to actively involve those affected and stakeholders in the implementation of change initiatives to reduce resistance and bring about sustainable behavioral change.

6. Change Management in Hybrid Projects
You will learn how to establish agile approaches in hybrid projects and what specifically changes as a result.

Agenda for the Agile Change Management Level 2 Workshop
Level 2 builds directly on the Level 1 content. No brand-new topics—rather a deeper, hands-on application of what you already know, enriched with advanced practices and peer exchange. We recommend at least six months’ experience running change initiatives with agile methods.
1. Agile Change Management in a Broader Organizational Context
When transitioning to an agile way of working, it's often not just the project members who are directly affected, but also adjacent teams or organizational units. You'll learn how to handle typical situations and find effective solutions for everyone involved.

2. Culture Change & Systems Thinking
Cultural change typically takes longer than introducing new processes and roles. To ensure that the change is sustainable, agile values must not only be practiced but also internalized. Here, you'll discover various ways to achieve this.

3. Dealing with Conflicts and Resistance
When interdisciplinary teams come together for the first time, people take on unfamiliar roles, and everyone must adapt to new processes, which can create friction and conflicts. You'll receive practical tools and interventions to effectively manage these tensions.

4. Making Change Initiatives Measurable
A key success factor for agile change initiatives is delivering value faster than with traditional approaches. In this module, we'll explore what this value can look like and which specific KPIs can be used to measure it.

5. Practical Exchange in a Lean Coffee Format
In an interactive format, you'll get tips and suggestions for your specific questions. By sharing practical experiences with other participants, you'll learn what works well in different industries and areas, and what doesn't.

6. Case Clinic & Next Steps
Participants coach each other on real-world change challenges. At the end, everyone will define measurable, concrete goals for a specific change initiative for the upcoming quarter. This is followed by a 1-on-1 reflection with the trainer to ensure the learnings are sustainably embedded.
