Anibal Rego Dacal
Anibal Rego Dacal is a seasoned voice in agile transformation and leadership coaching with a unique technical foundation.
Primarily a practitioner with deep roots in software development, Anibal spent his early career as a software engineer and architect before discovering his calling in agile coaching. For over 15 years, he has helped leaders and teams rethink how they build products, empower people, and navigate organizational change. His mission is to turn agility into measurable business impact while fostering cultures where teams can truly thrive.
As a self-employed Agile Coach and Scrum Master based in the Cologne-Bonn region, Anibal has guided organizations across industries—from media powerhouses like RTL Deutschland to technology companies and financial services firms. He specializes in organizational transformation, conducting offsites with executive boards and management teams, developing agile leadership concepts, and establishing frameworks like OKRs for product development. His work spans from building product teams at RTL.de and Wetter.de to supporting large-scale agile implementations in SAFe contexts and coaching teams of Agile Coaches themselves.
His technical background in software architecture, web development, blockchain technology, and system integration enriches his coaching practice. This makes his guidance especially valuable for teams navigating the intersection of technical excellence and agile ways of working. Among his focus areas are retrospective facilitation, conflict moderation, process optimization, and advancing teams toward technical excellence through practices like CI/CD and DevOps.
In addition to his coaching and transformation work, Anibal actively contributes to the agile community through writing and podcasting. His articles in the Agile Compass explore practical topics like velocity, dependency management, and keeping Daily Scrums focused on the Sprint Goal. His podcast episodes dive deep into the purpose and practice of core Scrum events, helping practitioners return to fundamental principles amid common misconceptions.
Anibal holds extensive certifications including Certified Agile Leadership at all levels (Essentials, Teams, and Organizations), advanced Scrum Master credentials (A-CSM, CSP-SM), Scaled Professional Scrum (SPS), and OKR Master certification. He's also trained in multiple coaching modalities including NLP, Dale Carnegie, hypnosystemic coaching under Gunter Schmidt, and solution-focused communication—tools he leverages to create lasting behavioral and cultural change.
Anibal lives in the Cologne-Bonn region with his family. In his continuous pursuit of growth, he invests in advanced coaching training and leadership development, bringing fresh insights and deepening expertise to every engagement. His approach balances strategic thinking with hands-on practice, making agile transformation both achievable and sustainable.
